At Hampshire Plastics, we pride ourselves on being able to take on any job, no matter how big or small. Our recent project, provided by CEI Exhibitions, certainly fitted into the former category!
CEI Exhibitions initially contacted us for a single clear cast acrylic cylinder, however, after discussing with them the full project, we realised that there was so much more we could help with. Their display consisted of three outer LED light Saturn rings, the largest being a massive 6m diameter.
Clear cast acrylic, known for its clarity and durability, proved to be an excellent choice for the lighting. Acrylic can be just as clear as glass, but at a fraction of the weight, making it perfect for hanging lighting sculptures.
Time was short for a solution for the LED lighting rings, so we came up with the design of a moulded rear section and removable front lens. This could be easily fitted out with the customer’s existing lighting system so that they could complete the entire stand on time.
We packaged the rings in sections that seamlessly slotted together, numbered and ready to go straight to the exhibition for installation. When the finished product was installed and lighting added, it was truly impressive and a stand-out piece in the hall.
