A wide variety of materials available

Your plastic tank can be made of the following materials depending on your use case and requirements,

The Materials we are able to manufacture Plastic Tanks in are:

  • Acrylic
  • Polycarbonate
  • PVC
  • Polypropylene
  • Polyethylene – HDPE & LDPE
  • PVDF

Other materials are available on request

How is a plastic tank manufactured?

We manufacture these tanks using the following methods

  • Hand-Fabrication
  • CNC
  • Oven Moulding
  • Vacuum Forming

The different materials we use for our plastic tanks

Acrylic Tanks

Acrylic Tanks can be produced in the following material thickness 2mm – 30mm

For large tanks these can be produced in sections and then joined together.

The primary acrylic we would use for tanks is clear but it is also available in various tints and colours.

The benefits of acrylic are:

  • Lightweight
  • Durable
  • Tougher than glass
  • 92% light transmission

Polycarbonate Tanks

Polycarbonate tanks can be produced in the following material thickness 1mm – 12mm

The benefits of Polycarbonate are:

Greater strength than acrylic and 200x impact resistance of Glass

  • 90% Light transmission
  • Can be exposed to high temperatures and is non-flammable
  • Highly resistant to chemicals
  • Can be drilled without cracking
  • Lightweight
  • Can be welded
  • UV2 Polycarbonate has added UV protection

PVC Tanks

PVC tanks can be produced in the following material thickness 1mm – 3mm.

The benefits of using PVC:

  • Good chemical resistance
  • Good electrical resistance
  • Fire rated
  • Self extinguishing
  • Impact resistant

Polypropylene Tanks (PP)

Polypropylene tanks can be produced in the following material thickness 1mm – 60mm.

The benefits of Polypropylene are:

  • Highly Durable
  • Good Chemical Resistance
  • Excellent electrical insulation

Polyethylene Tanks

Polyethylene tanks can be produced in the following material thickness 1mm – 60mm.

The benefits of Polyethylene are:

  • Highly Durable
  • Good Chemical Resistance
  • Excellent electrical insulation
  • Good acid resistance

PVDF Tanks (Polyvinylidene Fluoride)

Polyethylene tanks can be produced in the following material thickness 1mm – 60mm.

The Benefits of using PVDF:

  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • High temperature resistance
  • UV resistance
  • High purity
  • Temperature range 30°C up to +140°C
  • FDA approved for contact with food

PETG Tanks

PETG tanks can be produced in the following material thickness 0.5mm-12mm

The benefits of using PETG:

  • 90% Light transmission
  • Good impact resistance
  • Half weight of glass
  • Does not require pre-drying
  • Excellent fire rating
  • Food approved as standard, adhering to FDA and EEC regulations

Types of plastic tanks

Acid Tank

Acid storage tanks is a tank made of polyethylene or polypropylene material, which provides the ability to retain and store these materials in a safe manner.

Process Tanks

A process tank is used within a process as a container used for mixing or batching of chemicals, feeds, wastewater, foodstuffs or other components.

Processing tanks are primarily manufactured in Polypropylene however Hampshire Plastics will work with you to determine the most suitable material required.

Fresh Water Storage Tanks

A fresh water storage tank has a wide variety of applications and uses, examples of this include landscaping, agriculture & potable water.

This would primarily be manufactured in Polypropylene or High-Density Polyethylene

Waste Holding Tanks

Waste holding Tanks have a variety of different uses depending on your needs including Marine applications.

This can include grey water, sanitisation & waste

This would primarily be manufactured in Polypropylene or High-Density Polyethylene

Demonstration Tanks

Demonstration Tanks have a range of uses depending on your individual requirements

This can include:

  • Chemical demonstrations
  • Scientific Research
  • Fluid Dynamics
  • Validation testing

Demonstration Tanks will be primarily manufactured in Acrylic or Polycarbonate.

Industrial Tanks

Industrial Tanks cover a wide range of business sectors

These are manufactured in a range of thermoplastics.

Several different types of industrial tanks are

  • Vertical Cylindrical Tanks
  • Horizontal Cylindrical Tanks
  • Rectangular Tanks
  • Oval Tanks

Chemical Tanks

Chemical Tanks are used to store a wide range of hazardous materials

Plastic Fabricated tanks are corrosion and chemically resistant.

They also have the added benefit of being easier to clean and sanitise in comparison to other materials

Storage Tanks

The plastic tanks that Hampshire Plastics can manufacture include a wide range of storage tanks, Hampshire Plastics will work with you as part of the process brief to provide the best solution for your requirements.
